Visiting Puglia? After the sun sets, the stars come out, literally. Don’t miss the annual Coccaro Jazz Festival.

In his book ‘Beyond Wealth‘, Alexander Green writes, “Jazz delivers a sonic slice of life, with improvisations on the most universal of human themes, what Duke Ellington called “the world’s greatest duet, a man and a woman going steady.” He creatively compares the art of timing in jazz to that of making someone else happy. When to step it up, when to wait, when to slow it down. We never thought of it that way, but heck, he got us!
And so under the summer night sky, with the summer solstice well in effect, Jazz fans will love the experience that awaits at the annual Coccaro Jazz Festival. The event draws music fans from Italy and beyond, and this year’s lineup features the UK-based jazz-funk band Incognito, Italy’s “Swing Brothers” duo Sergio Caputo and Francesco Baccini and a concert by Moroccan singer Karima Gouit, alternating between two locations owned by Masseria Torre Coccaro: Coccaro Beach Club and Le Palme Beach Club opened just last year.
Incognito London
6th July
Who: Incongnito
Where: Le Palme Beach Club.
The enduring success of Incognito is one of the great stories of UK music during the last four decades. A central component of the band’s massive and passionately loyal fan base has always been their powerful and energetic live shows. The story begins in 1979 with Jean-Paul “Bluey” Maunick of Mauritian origin and continues with music’s long road of ups and downs.  Forty years on, the Bluey and Incognito story remains a uniquely Great British legend with Top 10 hits and collaborations with legendary artists including George Benson, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Philip Bailey, Jocelyn Brown, George Duke, Al Jarreau, and Marcus Miller. Prepare for some global soul and positive vibes.
21st July
Who: Sergio Caputo & Francesco Baccini
Where: Coccaro Beach Club
With the guitar and piano accompanying the duo’s light-hearted voices, The Swing Brothers make music together in the most ironic and enchanting of ways. The two met in 2016 and are known as the most original and unconventional figures of the Italian music scene with the ‘Chewing Gum” blues album as a fruit of their friendship. Their compositions are lively and joyful. On July 21st they will take to the stage with songs from their album and pieces from their well-loved repertoires.
Caputo & Baccini
4th August
Who: Karima
Where: Coccaro Beach Club
The Italian singer and actress born Karima Ammar is known as ‘Karima’ here in Italy. In 2009, she released her first six-track album “Amare Le Differenze” (Love the Differences). In 2010, she performed on stage in the U.S., opening a concert for Whitney Houston. Her second album, “Close to You: Karima Sings Bacharach” was released in 2015. Accompanied by soft acoustics, her impressive and soulful voice flutters to splendid heights and descends to intimate whispers.

"When a space is too designed or too defined by its architecture you cannot express yourself properly and you somehow disappear. You feel you have to represent the space, not be represented by the space."
The shores of Gallipoli are sublime in June.. The skies capture cloudscapes rolling in from the West European shores, mixed with Salentinean sunshine, giving the sea the color of aquamarine pumi and the Italian ices sold on the streets of New York. A smorgasbord of colors, emotions and aromas.
New season, new experiences.
Everyone can rise and come back better, stronger, more resilient, mature and happier.
Today we're walking through the design studio of @radicenomade at San Cesario Di Lecce, owned and managed by Isabella Faggiano and her life partner. The couple creates the designs in a charming Bohemian studio in the center of the town.
