Designers unite in Puglia and we always appreciate the intermix between inquisitive and creative minds. The latest collaboration comes from Gian Paolo Guerra and Ceramics Nicola Fasano.
Guerra had a design itch that needed to be cured and where else could one go but to the Fasano family that has visitors near and far crossing the countryside to purchase one-off tableware and decorative pieces. The “Cratos” capsule collection was designed by Gian Paolo Guerra for CNF (Ceramics Nicola Fasano), a highly awarded and internationally recognized artisan studio from Grottaglie, Puglia. The works in the Cratos collection are inspired by the ancient Grecia-Tarantina with a contemporary reinterpretation that is simplified with no engravings or excess decorations. Each piece is unique and is designed to give an air of haute decor to living spaces and offices.
Decorated in sinuous shapes and brilliant enamels, each piece in the collection is bathed in colors that remind Guerra of Parisian doors, featuring wisteria, plum, and Prussian blue tones juxtaposed with mud, yellow broom, and grey contrasts.
Outside the craft room, Guerra is also an accomplished architect with a studio in Rome and Ostuni. He is behind some of the latest villa openings in Puglia (for residential and hospitality projects), following an aesthetic code that respects the region’s history and culture while incorporating ultra-modern comforts.
